THE West Coast Eagles have just revealed that Will Schofield was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Geelong on Saturday night.
The Eagles defender suffered serious facial injuries from the incident and the club has released a statement saying that the matter is now the subject of a police investigation and that Geelong detectives are interviewing a person in relation to that attack.
Schofield is from Geelong, having attended Geelong College and was drafted by the Eagles out of the Geelong Falcons. Along with several other players from the club, he was granted permission to stay over in Melbourne after the match against Collingwood at the MCG last Friday.
He was out with friends on Saturday night and they were walking to their vehicle when they were attacked.
